Description
This very pretty George V sterling silver purse was made by the prolific Samuel Levi and is dated Birmingham 1910. Of conventional form, both sides engraved with foliate scrolls. The front with a vacant cartouche. The push button opening to reveal the original green moire silk compartmentalised interior. The sides fitted with a chain and suspension ring to allow a lady to hold her purse while holding her cocktail glass.Hallmarks:
S.M. L for Samuel Levi.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "l" for 191-.
