Description

This exquisite Victorian solid silver visiting card case was made by the renowned silversmith George Unite. Of rounded rectangular form, both front and back ornately engraved with foliate scrolls surrounding twin opposed cartouches. one monogrammed, the other vacant.
Hinged lid and scalloped edge.
Gilt inner lid.
Hallmarks:
GU for George Unite.
Birmingham Assay.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "y" for 1898.
Dimensions:
10cm x 7cm.
4 inches x 3 inches.
Condition:
Silver case in excellent condition with no dings or dents.
Good hinge, shuts nicely.
Crisp engravings.
Good set of hallmarks.
Clean Interior, a little scratched.
