Description

This stunning William IV silver inkstand was made by the renowned William Eaton and is dated London 1837. It is very much in the Naturalistic movement with its cast twig handle and "moth" thumb piece. The shaped circular base finely engraved with floral decorations. The centre fitted with a beaded silver receptacle and detachable cut glass silver lidded inkwell. Both hinged lid and receptacle fully hallmarked. The glass inkwell is by the same maker but is a later date.

Inkstand: Date letter "B" for 1837
Inkwell: Date letter "F" for 1881.

Height: 10cm / 4 inches.
Condition:
Very good throughout.
Glass inkwell in very good condition.
Silver in very good condition.
