Description
This is a gorgeous and rather unusual Victorian silver plated tortoiseshell ice bucket. The oak bucket lined externally with tortoiseshell and fitted with the original white ceramic liner. The rim and base with silver plated apron borders and fitted with an articulated handle. The front inset with a solid silver vacant cartouche. These buckets are very scarce.Dimensions:
Height up to bucket rim: 8.5cm / 3.3 inches.
Height up to top of the handle: 16.5cm / 6.4 inches.
Diameter of base: 9cm / 3.4 inches.
Diameter of rim: 10.5cm / 4 inches.
Condition:
Good.
Tortoiseshell in good glossy condition but a minor hairline crack on side.
Liner in good condition. Age related crazing. No cracks or chips.
Silver sides in very good condition.
Handle very sound.
