Description
This is an exquisite and unusual 19th Century Dutch silver peppermint box. Of flared oval form, the textured sides imitating a woven basket. The fluted shell-shaped hinged cover opening to reveal the original rich gilt interior. The sides fitted with loop handles. Raised on a small spread pedestal base. The underside with Dutch hallmarks. The side of the lid with date letter.Hallmarks:
Makers marks: AK
Lion Passant second standard mark (833/100).
Date letter "Z" for 1834.
