This large and unique piece was made in London 1906 by the reputed Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company. It was most probably a commission piece for a wealthy collector. The deep, heavy gauge, spot-hammered silver bowl raised on three cast dolphin feet, the upper section with a simple band of raised roundels.
The base impressed "GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS COMANY 112 REGENT STREET. W" and engraved 1931 to 1950, possibly a commemoration date.

This is a magnificent Mid-Victorian solid silver and crystal claret jug by John Wilmin Figg, an illustrious and very collectable silversmith. Of generous proportions, the bulbous glass body mounted with an exquisite silver neck embossed with grotesque masks among fruiting vines and complete with Bacchanalian spout. The embossed hinged cover with a cast rampant lion. The engraved scroll handle joining a beaded silver girdle in the lower section of the jug.

This fabulous and rarely seen large cast silver "owl" pepper, mustard and matching "mouse" spoon was made by the renowned silversmith Richard Comyns in 1965. Each cast body with naturalistic plumage and inset with characterful glass eyes. The mustard with a hinged cover housing its matching "mouse" mustard spoon. These spoons are very scarce as they so often have been lost. The pepper with a hallmarked secure pull-off cover. It is the large example, it has an excellent silver gauge and the quality is wonderful. A superb and rare owl cruet set by the celebrated Comyns family.

Each coffee pot having a plain circular body with tapering sides, a conical hinged lid with finial, a straight spout and a light wood side-handle. Each with an excellent silver gauge.

This is a gorgeous example. Realistically modelled, the unusually slender body chased with hair, the back with foliate hinged cover with fly finial, in the manner of John Schuppe.
