This delightful George III solid silver caddy spoon is dated Birmingham 1811 and was made by the prolific silversmith Joseph Taylor, who specialised in small pieces and objects of vertu. The heart-shaped bowl exquisitely bright-engraved with foliate motifs. The hollow handle with conforming decorations. The back of the handle fully hallmarked.

The oval-shaped mother of pearl receptacle resting on a pierced petal-shaped pedestal and housing a silver thimble. The silver thimble hallmarked for the collectable Charles Horner.

This gorgeous triple overlay opaline glass silver mounted scent bottle dates circa 1880. Of elegant sliced-cut waisted form, the pink opaque body cut to white opaline glass then to clear glass with geometric patterns. The neck mounted with an embossed screw-top silver lid. The inner lid retaining its original cork.

Unmarked as it was very often the case with scent bottle lids but tested as silver.

Pot pourri boxes are very sought-after and this cast silver lidded example is beautiful. Of unusual triangular form, the hinged silver lid cast and pierced with putti amongst fruiting vines.
The sides embossed with a beautiful flower head garland. Solid silver base.

This fabulous late Georgian, hand-blown, Prussian-shaped spirit decanter dates circa 1825. The body with three applied annular neck rings. The shoulders and base cut with broad petal flutes and the mid-section engraved with exquisite star motifs. Polished out pontil mark to the base and hollow star-cut stopper. Sold with an Old Sheffield plate wine coaster from the same period. Would be a lovely addition to the Christmas table.

This exquisite George III silver jockey cap caddy spoon was made by the very collectable Birmingham silversmith and toy maker* Samuel Pemberton and dates circa 1795. The plain oval bowl with a central reserve stuck with maker's marks only. The inner bowl with bright-cut engraving . Jockey cap caddy spoons are very collectable and this is a lovely example by a renowned silversmith.

* from the late 18th to early 19th Century, Birmingham was the centre for the making of “toys”: small decorative objects from silver. They were produced in small family businesses and factories throughout Birmingham. They made a range of items including patch boxes, nutmeg graters, buckles, caddy spoons, vinaigrettes, snuff boxes and babies rattles.
