This is an eye-catching and very unusual Victorian sliced-cut glass scent bottle. The body, a pale shade of apricot is elegantly sliced-cut. Mounted with a silver hinged lid embossed with foliate patterns.
The neck with clear glass stopper.

Hallmarks:
Not hallmarked, as it very often was the case with scent bottle lids, but tested as silver.

Width: 3cm / 1.2 inches.
Depth: 2 cm / 0.6 inch.

Condition:
Very good.
Glass in the inner neck in good condition, no cracks.

This is a very pretty and rather unusual 19th Century silver lidded uranium glass scent bottle. The vivid green opaline glass body of waisted form and heightened with gilt floral decorations. It is mounted with a bayonet, engraved silver, sprung lid, always a sign of quality, The lid was once silver gilt but the gilding has now faded and is very pale.

Hallmarks:

Lid unmarked but tested as silver.

Dimensions:

Height: 10cm / 4 inches.
Width: 4cm / 1.4 inches.
Depth: 2.5 cm / 1 inch.

Condition:
Good.
Glass in the inner neck in good condition, no cracks.
No holes to the silver lid but a small area of compression.
Hinge a little wobbly.
Bayonet mechanism in working order.
Glass in good condition, gilt decorations mostly rubbed.
Although not in perfect condition, it is a lovely scent bottle with a lot of charm.

This is a very decorative and rare clear, white and pink glass Nailsea glass *Gimmel flask. The flattened bellow-shaped body with crimped sides.

*Gimmel flasks date from early in 19th Century and were made in flint glass. They were predominantly made at Nailsea, Birmingham and Stonebridge. Most of them were sold as vessels for toilet water. They have twin flasks with two spouts pointing in opposite directions.

This exquisite Georgian nutmeg grater bears the marks of the sought-after silversmith Thomas Willmore and is dated Birmingham 1801. Nutmeg graters are scarce and usually in poor condition. This one is in excellent order, is fully hallmarked, which is not always the case.
The bright-cut rectangular body is the perfect size to house a nutmeg, as can be seen on one of my images. The hinged cover opens to reveal the original steel grater. The inner lid is fully hallmarked.

Silver "book" vinaigrettes are rather scarce and very sought-after and this is a wonderful example. Made by Joseph Taylor & John Perry in Birmingham 1840, it is engraved with scroll decorations on both sides.
The reeded spine modelled as a book.
The oval reserve to the front engraved with initials.
Gilt interior.
The original sponge is still present.
The grille intricately pierced with foliate decorations.

Date letter "R" for 1840.
