Description
This is a delightful pair of small Jugendstil Art Nouveau German silver salts. Each circular salt formed as a handled basket holding a clear glass liner. The pierced flat handles with a distinctive Arts & Craft influence. The silver sides pierced with stylised berries very much in the Art Nouveau manner. Sold with the original silver spoons, a rare occurrence, these often get lost.Jugendstil was an artistic movement that was influential primarily in Germany and elsewhere in Europe from about 1895 until about 1910. It was the German counterpart of Art Nouveau.
