Description
This beautiful Victorian silver plated large size cake knife was made by Jonas Bowen and Sons, active in Birmingham from c.1870. The generous silver blade engraved with Gothic style decorations, very much in the 1870's style. The ferrule with decorative strap-work decorations fitted with a bone handle. Serrated blade.Presented in its original case lined with satin and velvet interior. Cased silver plated cake knives are few and far between and this is a superb example.
