Description
This Victorian silver thimble was made by James Fenton and is dated Birmingham 1895. It is fitted in its original egg-shaped ormulu thimble case. The outer case chased all over with bright-cut designs and fitted with a suspension chain. The side with a thumb-piece opening to reveal the original interior fitted with blue silk and crushed velvet. So often, the interior of these holders are missing. This is a beautiful complete example.Hallmarks:
