This tall and very elegant Art Deco sterling silver sugar caster was made by Dixon & Sons and is dated Sheffield 1940. The tapered cylindrical body with a pull-off stepped cover and conforming pedestal foot. The pierced removable cover with stepped finial.Hallmarks:
JD&S for James Dixon & Sons.
Sheffield Assay mark.
Date letter "A" for 1940.
Lion passant.
