Description
This is a very unusual silver salt receptacle. It is dated Birmingham 1882 and bears the marks of the renowned Henry Matthews. The fully hallmarked silver pierced lid with spoon attachment and fitted on a beautiful amethyst glass cylindrical body. The salt can be dispensed both with a spoon and by sprinkling it. The base star-cut. A very unusual item.Hallmarks:
HM for Henry Matthews.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "h" for 1888.
Condition:
Very good.
