Description

This delightful Victorian silver mounted turquoise scent bottle bears the marks of Charles May, who specialised in perfume bottles. The slightly panelled baluster glass body heightened with sprays of yellow and white enamel flowers to one side ad red and white to the other. Fitted with a fully hallmarked embossed silver pull-off lid. The lid decorated with flowers surrounding a vacant cartouche. The inner lid corked.

CM. for Charles May.
Lion Passant.
Birmingham Assay mark.
Date letter "f" for 1905.
Dimensions:
Height: 12cm / 5 inches.
Maximum diameter: 5cm / 2 inches.
Condition:
Very good.
No chips, no cracks.
Date letter faint but identifiable.
Silver lid in a little uneven, commensurate with age and use.
