Description

This stunning 19th Century Venetian Murrine glass scent bottle dates circa 1850. The bottle with a vibrant copper aventurine glass background and swirling hues of pink, white and turquoise glass. The neck adorned with a gilt metal hinged cap topped with a red glass jewel and fitted with a suspension chain. The hinged lid opening to reveal the original glass stopper. Murrine glass was created by combining different glass pigments together when cold and heated in a kiln so the glass components melt and bond together to form a multi-coloured mosaic.
