This is a gorgeous Art Deco silver and celluloid compact in a vibrant lilac colour. Of circular form with sunburst decorations, the Celluloid * inset made to resemble guilloche enamel. The hinged cover opening to reveal the original mirror and gilt interior. Removable attachment for powder fitted in a receptacle. The back plain and fully hallmarked. partial hallmarks to the lid.* Celluloid is known as the first plastic. Celluloid is a brand name. From the late 19th century to the 1940s accessories and collectibles were fashioned from Celluloid
