Description
This decorative pale solid oak bridge box is mounted with embossed silver corners and silver lettering. It is dated Birmingham 1905 and bears the marks of the prolific Levi & Salaman. These type of playing card boxes, complete and in good condition, are rather scarce and this is a lovely example.The cover is applied with the word Bridge in silver letters. The silver corners with ribbon-tied decorations.
Green leather interior and "Jaques" retailers marks to the inner lid. The box contains a Jaques set of cards with matching green pencils.
Hallmarks:
L&S for Levi & Salaman.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "e" for 1904.
Condition:
Oak in good condition.
Silver corners in equally good condition.
Packs of cards complete.
