Description

These desirable Georgian solid silver asparagus tongs or sandwich tongs are dated London 1795 and bear the marks of Thomas Northcote and George Bourne. The flexion of the narrow rectangular blades restrained by a plain rectangular bracket. The bracket with decorative finials and retaining the original silver screws.
The lower blade corrugated. Crested and initials to the inner handle.
They have a good gauge of silver, a testimony of their quality.
Hallmarks:
TN over GB for Thomas Northcote and George Bourne
Lion Passant.
Duty Mark.
Date letter "u" for 1795.

Excellent.
