Description

This unusual and rather exquisite Edwardian silver visiting card case is in the form of an evening bag. It is dated Birmingham 1906 and was made by the prolific William Aitken. Of shaped rectangular form, the front with an engraved hinged front cover. The plain back fully hallmarked. The lower section engraved with decorative Gothic initials. The interior lined with the original green silk moire. The sides with the original suspension chain.

W.A for William Aitken.
Lion Passant.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Date letter "g" for 1906.
Dimensions:
10.5cm x 7cm.
4 inches x 2.6 inches.
Condition:
Silver case in very condition with no dings or dents.
Good hinge.
Maker's marks partially rubbed but identifiable.
Clean, original Interior.
