This beautiful solid silver and mother of pearl letter opener or paper knife was made by the renowned George Unite and is dated Birmingham 1875. The intricately carved mother of pearl handle mounted with a decorative ferrule and a fully hallmarked engraved silver blade. It is a lovely example and combines elegance with practicality.Hallmarks:
GU for George Unite.
Birmingham Assay mark.
Lion passant.
Date letter "a" for 1875.
