This superb quality solid silver large mustard pot was made by the renowned Barnard family and is dated London 1849. The generous drum-shaped body pierced with panels of intricate foliate scrolls very much in the Gothic style of the era. The engraved hinged cover with a pierced thumb piece.The back with a shaped scroll handle. The inner lid partially hallmarked and the spread circular base fully hallmarked on the underside. The interior fitted with the original star-cut Bristol blue glass liner. Sold with an associated Georgian silver mustard spoon by Robert Rutland dated London 1823

Of traditional oval form , the plain sides with a distinctive rope-twist border, giving it an Arts & Craft look. The domed cover with urn shaped finial. The back with elegant scroll handle. Fitted with the original blue glass liner and sold with a very well matched sterling silver mustard spoon by John Round, dated Sheffield 1909.

This is a very rare surviving example of a George III Scottish silver mustard pot. Dated Edinburgh 1791, it bears the marks of Matthew Craw. Of traditional oval form , the sides pierced with vertical slats within prick-dot borders. The navette shaped cartouche on one side engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. One the other side vacant. The domed cover with urn finial and matching bright-cut decorations.

This very distinctive and rather fabulous Victorian silver mustard was made by the celebrated William Comyns and is dated London 1891. Of square form, the body intricately pierced with satyrs and putti in a foliate landscape. The flat hinged cover embossed with a bird in flight. The cast handle in the form of a mythical creature. Fitted with the original blue glass liner and sold with a gorgeous solid silevr Albany pattern condiment spoon with gilt shell bow. The spoon dated London 1886.
