This relatively rare solid silver pin cushion in the form of a bulldog was made by Adie & Lovekin and is dated Birmingham 1905. It is full of character, looks adequately grumpy and is in very good condition. Fitted with its original green velvet cushion.

This delightful Dutch silver tape measure dates circa 1830. The cylindrical pierced body within fine engraved decorations. The winding mechanism modelled as a coffee grinder handle. The pink silk tape unmarked and fitted with the original silver end. It can be pulled gently by the silver end and wound back by turning the handle clockwise. it is a wonderful and rather uniquer example in lovelycondition.

This George V silver thimble was made by the reputable Charles Horner and is dated Chester 1922. It is fitted in a gorgeous egg-shaped ormulu thimble case. The outer case chased all over with foliate scrolls and fitted with a suspension chain. The side with a thumb-piece opening to reveal the original interior fitted with pink silk and crushed velvet. So often, the interior of these holders are missing. This is a beautiful complete example.

This wonderful and extremely rare mid-19th Century French silver sewing set dates circa 1840. Presented in its original red tooled leather case, it is fitted with the original silver tools. As usual with sewing implements of this date, they are unmarked. The beautifully worked tools comprise; a thimble with amethyst stone, a basket pin cushion, a tape measure, a stiletto, a bodkin, scissors in their sheath, a folding knife and an ear wax spoon. The case itself is in beautiful original condition.

This exquisite 19th Century French Palais Royal "Grand Tour" sewing companion dates circa 1860. The circular alabaster base supporting a mother of pearl and gilt mounted egg below a bird catch, the gilt interior with thimble, stiletto, scissors and a bodkin, the other bodkin missing. The eagle finial operates as a spring push mechanism. When turned anti clockwise and gently pushed down, it opens to reveal a fitted gilt interior. The underside of the alabaster base lined with the original turquoise paper. These "Grand Tour" sewing companions are few and far between and this is a lovely example in great condition.
