This rare and highly collectable sterling silver money box in the form of a brogue shoe has a very good size. The silver body applied and pierced with realistic details and fitted with the original ribbon shoe lace. The hinged slotted lid opening at the back and fitted with a clasp, allowing if needed a small padlock to be inserted. The interior lined with blue velvet and leather. The sole is beautifully crafted with light oak.

Hallmarks:

Marked on the side of the shoe (very faint).
Partial marks on the inner lid.
Registration number.
Maker's marks erased but these type shoes were the speciality of the silversmith S Blanckensee & Sons.

This is an exquisite George III Sterling silver gaming counters box. Of circular form, the borders decorated with bright-cut engraved swags and dots. The friction fitting cover similarly decorated. The box containing three rather delightful engraved mother of pearls counters. Georgian silver counters boxes are relatively rare and this complete set is lovely example.

This is an exquisite miniature silver and cobalt blue guilloche enamel novelty purse mirror. Made by the renowned Henry Williamson it was made in Birmingham circa 1930. The front with the original "reduction" mirror. The original puff ball is in place. The engine-turned back a vivid blue. The silver handle fitted with a suspension ring.

Unmarked but tested as silver, it would originally have been paired with a gentleman's Albert watch chain, today it would work well as a pendant. The face is hand painted and in working order. This exquisite and very rare Georgian silver travelling corkscrew is dated Birmingham 1794 and was made by the prolific silversmith John Taylor, who specialised in small pieces and objects of vertu.

The silver collar with a stunning green stained ivory barrel-shaped handle. The reeded cover unscrews to reveal the original steel helix. The cover is fully hallmarked at the base, which is quite unusual and is a bonus.

This exquisite Georgian silver nutmeg grater bears the marks of the prolific silversmith Joseph Willmore who was part of the Birmingham toy making * fraternity. It is dated Birmingham 1801 and is in excellent order, it is fully hallmarked, which was not often the case. The bright-cut rectangular body is the perfect size to house a nutmeg, as can be seen on one of my images. The pull-off cover opens to reveal the original steel grater. The base with pull-off cover. * from the late 18th to early 19th Century, Birmingham was the centre for the making of “toys”: small decorative objects from silver. They were produced in small family businesses and factories throughout Birmingham. They made a range of items including patch boxes, nutmeg graters, buckles, caddy spoons, vinaigrettes, snuff boxes and babies rattles.

This exquisite and very unusual Georgian nutmeg grater bears the marks of the sought-after silversmith Samuel Pemberton and is dated Birmingham 1795. Nutmeg graters are scarce and usually in poor condition. This one is in excellent order, is fully hallmarked, which is not always the case.
The bright-cut cylindrical body is the perfect size to house a nutmeg, as can be seen on one of my images. The pull-off domed cover opens to reveal the original steel grater. The lower section with a pull-off lid protecting the grater. The inner lid is fully hallmarked.
